Working in an accounting firm is never an easy job. Most if not all alumni of any accounting firm can vouch how challenging is the process of achieving the high-standard discipline of the public practice. Some gave up too early and some stay for a while, serving their purpose in the profession.
Like the professionals working with GPP CPAs, many has tried to take the challenge but only few managed to stay at the top. As the firm enters its sixth year in the business, the Management gives due recognition to the strong professionals who are the foundations of the firm in revolutionizing its service lines and business culture. Their motivation to stand for the profession and the unique skill sets in leading the team are indeed an inspiration to all young professionals. Arianne has been working with the firm since 2017 after passing the October 2017 CPA Board Examination. A Cum Laude graduate from Vigan who has made her who has made her way to GPP CPAs as an Audit Associate to Financial Reporting Associate and now has been entrusted to lead the Payroll Services of the firm as Supervisor .
When asked about her experience working in a smaller firm, here’s how she responded:
“In my own perspective, the advantage of growing with a smaller accounting firm is being able to discover more of who you are and learning tend to be constant. Being in a smaller firm, for me, is a solid training ground for a professional to stand alone loaded with necessary wisdom in order to fly further. The lack of some facilities which bigger ones possess is a challenge which drives the determination of learning more and triggers persistence towards the highest goal. I still believe that everything starts with a low blow to a booming finish.”
Seala is remarkable with her motherly care to the team across all aspects. This 25-year old CPA has shown exceptional maturity and sense of accountability towards work making her ahead from her peers after one year with the firm. Her career started in first quarter of 2017 as a Financial Reporting Associate and is elevated to a higher role after a year. Her expertise in different industries, leadership skills and client management skills became one of the firm’s strong foundations in surpassing operational challenges. When asked about the greatest challenge encountered while working with GPP CPAs, Seala bravely shared:
” My most remarkable moment is when I was challenged to lead a team of professionals of my age, knowledge and capability.I conquered our what ifs and proved that one really can’t tell one’s incability unless one tries.”
A strong team is always backed-up by a strong admin and finance post. That’s how exactly Prei is working with the GPP team in her role as the Finance Officer. Her discipline towards work organization despite of the high volume transactions and good relationship with partner institutions helped a lot in bridging the gaps of operational requirements when it comes to funding. Her three (3) meaningful years as Finance Officer of the firm strengthened the control and organizational processes when it comes to financial management. Asked about the remarkable challenges encountered so far, Prei shared:
“Workload, pressure from clients, partners and deadlines alike are just some of the challenges which imbued me necessary skills to face and deal with the corporate world in a better way.”

A moving statement from the recently promoted Tax Practitioner Azalea/Lea. Her career in GPP CPAs started in 2014 when she decided to gamble her career in a struggling and newly set-up firm. Packed with basic taxation knowledge from her previous employment, she was able to developed a remarkable level of expertise in tax compliance through the years and now running the Tax Services of GPP CPAs as Principal.
If there’s one member of the firm who can share the history of GPP CPAs, Marie is probably the right person to talk with. From 2013, Marie has been part of putting-up the organizational structure of the firm. Her flexibility has filled-up various firm requirements from the human resource position and other administrative tasks to operational works in tax compliance and payroll/ hr services. Through various exposures in almost six (6) years, Marie has managed to learn the complexities of Corporate Services such as company registration, corporate secretarial works, PEZA registrations and other related services and has been promoted to manage the service line dealing with government registrations and processes. According to Marie: “being with GPP for almost six (6) years, it taught me a lot of important lessons in life. The firm taught me to trust my capabilities and myself. The firm helped me embrace my weaknesses and turned it into strength. Through the years, I’ve realized it doesn’t matter if you are working in a small accounting firm or a larger firm. What matters is how the firm helps you discover your capabilities and enrich your abilities. That’s why, I entrust my career to GPP because I believe they will help me give my best and use it for my growth as a professional and individual.”
